Dr. Kinder was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. At age 13, Dr. Kinder’s interest in dentistry was spawned through his many visits to the orthodontist, and he made an early decision to pursue that dream.
After serving in the U.S. Army for 4 years, Dr. Kinder completed his undergraduate degree from University of California, Davis. He went on to work as a research associate in the Department of Physiology at UC Davis and then received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree in 1982 from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Kinder has had extensive advanced training in many realms of general dentistry including orthodontics, anxiety-free dentistry, cosmetics, endodontics, and implant dentistry. He has a passion for being in the classroom and is a life-long student of dentistry.
Dr. Kinder and his wife Sharon are richly blessed with 7 adult children and 13 beautiful grandchildren. They enjoy being involved in their church and serving in several ministries. Dr. Kinder has made numerous trips to Guatemala to serve in dental clinics in remote villages and has served on medical/dental missions trips to Mexico. He has also enjoyed working in local health screening clinics in Knoxville.
When not working in the office, you might find him working on a home improvement project, on a bicycle, or paddling a kayak.
