Dr. Allyson Murchison was born and raised in Kingsport, TN. She is the only child of Marc and Marty Dunn. She has known she wanted to be a dentist since she was in the 6th grade. Growing up, Dr. Murchison danced and played softball and golf competitively. In 2015, she won the Tennessee Women’s Amateur golf tournament at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. Allyson attended Tennessee Tech University on a golf and academic scholarship, she majored in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a Business Minor. Her junior year of college, she finished runner-up in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship.
Allyson attended dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN where she met her now husband, Franklin. While in dental school, she was an active member of Psi Omega fraternity, American Association for Women Dentists (AAWD) and was the Honor Council president. She also was a student teacher of operative dentistry for first year dental students. She graduated with honors in 2022 and is excited to have moved to her husband’s hometown to begin her career. Her husband, Franklin, is in residency to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Allyson’s goal is to provide comprehensive dental treatment in a welcoming environment. She is so excited to work with the wonderful doctors and staff at Cornerstone Dental Arts and states that they have already made her feel at home.
When not in the office, Allyson loves to golf, hike, read, travel, cook and spend time with her family and friends.
